Service Tiers and Prices
Service Contract Direct Debit Mandate

We have four basic service tiers: Supa Lite, Lite, Lite+, and Regular. The services are differentiated primarily on the basis of a monthly download usage allowance (although they are also subject to any limitations within our Acceptable Usage Policy in that, for example, they are not really suitable for continuous p2p use). The various allowances currently in force are shown in the table below. Our experience shows that the Lite service should be suitable for email and light surfing, and the Lite+ for email and fairly regular surfing. The Supa Lite is designed for the occasional surfer/emailer who appreciates a fast, always on connection but does not use the Internet very much. Customers wishing to stream a lot of video will most likely need to be on one of the higher service tiers.

Users will enjoy unlimited access to the Community Network within their area at the highest rate practically available (that is, no specific bandwidth limiting except as needed to prevent local congestion). Since it is for our connection to the Internet that we must "pay by the megabit per second", this is where we impose bandwidth management. Currently, we are offering "official" maximum bandwidths of either 3.0 Mbps or 6.0 Mbps, though the actual speed will vary depending on how busy our wireless network and/or backhaul connctions are at any moment in time.

Highnam Business Centre and other Ultrafast Capable Locations. For customers within the Highnam Business Centre, and some other Ultrafast Capable locations, we now offer much faster download and upload speeds!

The actual peak limits set on our bandwidth manager are above the "official" limits mentioned above. This is to help increase the likelihood that customers will actually achieve the official limits in practice. It also allows us to test our network for its ability to deliver even higher speeds to customers. These higher limits are shown below the official limits in the table below.

If/when any monthly data transfer cap is reached the connection will remain on and you will not be charged extra, but the speed will be throttled back. The maximum speed of the throttled connections is currently set at 1 Mbps down and 750 kbps up, though again the actual speed will vary depending on how busy our network is at any point in time.

Router

If you need a (wireless) router then it would need to be of the cable/dsl variety and not the adsl variety. You can either supply that yourself (from PC World, Argos etc, or online), or we can provide one for you.

The wifi routers we supply and configure for you are from the same manufacturer that we use for our main wireless equipment (Mikrotik), and are 802.11a/b/g/n/ac devices. The standard one we supply has four 1 Gbps LAN ports would cost £59.50 inc vat.

A significant advantage of using one of our wifi routers is that we are then able to remotely manage it for you, which aids in the (remote) support we are able to provide you with.
